Toshiba MK5002MPL, HDD1232
The MK5002MPL, which is the size of
a credit card, is the second generation
of PC Card HDD released by Toshiba. Both
the 5GB and the 2GB versions of the PC
Card HDD draw heavily on the advanced
and proven technologies that Toshiba has
developed in its 2.5-inch HDD product
range. All that power and performance
is contained in a drive that stands only
5mm high and weighs in at an ultra light
55 grams.

Small factor hard-disk drives offer significant
improvements in performance over alternatives
such as Compact Flash, while being more
cost effective. With the introduction
of our range of 1.8" hard disk drives,

Portable applications are ideally supported
with both low power consumption, drive
voltage as low as 3.3V and non-operating
shock resistance specification of 1,000G.
The drive is fully compliant with the
PC Card (PCMCIA) Type II standard.
The MK5002MPL PC Card HDD will also allow
consumers to instantly upgrade their old
notebook's capacity by simply plugging
in the new device. This makes light work
of what was once a cumbersome task. When
used as a "bridge" media, the
new MK5002MPL 5GB model offers enough
storage capacity for 5hrs of MPEG-2 DVD
quality video or approximately 75hrs of
MP3 music
